This class has been tailored to the needs of our little leg friends, specifically of the longer back variety.
The unique proportions of breeds such as the Dachshund, Corgi, Basset Hound, as well as many others means that these little friends of ours have their own unique exercise requirements.
A long back really does require additional attention in the form of strengthening and flexibility exercises, particularly in regards to strengthening the core musculature. Core stability exercises strengthen the muscles of the back and abdominal area, as well as the muscles of the hips and shoulders, and the stronger these areas are the less stress there will be on the back and the less likely an injury will occur. A strong core really is crucial for the health and safety of longer backed dogs!
This class is very similar to the regular Sit Stay Squat human-canine fitness class but will have a larger emphasis on the exercise requirements of long backed dogs, as well as an exclusion of any exercises that have been deemed unsafe for our little friends.
